Scrabble word finder

Turn your letters and blank tiles into words.

Letters in.
Words out.

This Scrabble word finder searches 168,551 English words from two to fifteen letters. Enter the letters you have, add a question mark or asterisk for each blank tile, and select Find words. Repeated letters are used only as many times as they appear in your rack.

Find anagrams and shorter words

The default search includes any word you can make with some or all of your letters. With AELRST, for example, you can find six-letter anagrams as well as shorter choices. Open Filter words and select Use every rack tile if you need a full anagram.

Give a blank its place

A ? or * can stand for any English letter, with a maximum of two blanks. In the results, letters supplied by a blank are underlined. Their tile score is zero, even when the letter would normally have a high value.

Narrow the list

Filter by a word's beginning, ending, contained letters, or exact length. Contains matches consecutive letters in the order you enter them. Sort by length, alphabetically, or by tile score. Click a result to copy the word.

A useful word list.
Know its boundaries.

The finder uses the public-domain ENABLE English word list. It is a general word-game list, rather than the current licensed NASPA or Collins tournament dictionary. Some entries differ from the list used by your game, so check a disputed word against the dictionary agreed by your players.

The displayed score adds ordinary English Scrabble letter values, treating blanks as zero. It does not include board squares, crossing words, or the seven-tile bonus here. For score-ranked rack choices, a board-letter pattern, and the seven-tile bonus, use the Scrabble solver.

Use the finder to explore anagrams, learn short words, or compare options during practice. Scrabble is a trademark of its respective owners; this independent tool is not endorsed by them.

Good questions.
Straight answers.

How do I find words from letters?

Type your letters in any order and select Find words. The results use only the tiles you entered, including repeated letters.

Can I use two blank tiles?

Yes. Add ?? or ** alongside your letters. Each blank supplies at most one letter in a word.

Are all results valid in tournament Scrabble?

The results are words in ENABLE. Tournament lists have different editions and rules, so this tool does not certify a word for NASPA or Collins tournament play.

Why did a filter remove all my results?

The word must satisfy every active filter at once and still fit your letters. Clear a filter or add a blank tile to widen the search.

How is this different from the Scrabble solver?

The finder helps you browse and filter words. The solver ranks rack options by score and can fit them around existing board letters.
